Monster Math Squad (Counter)

My son absolutely loves Monster Math Squad.  It is oddly quite funny and presents math in such a fun way!  I searched the web for monster math squad worksheets and came up with nothing so I decided to improvise and make a monster math squad counter.  I thought we would share how much fun we are having with you!

What you will need:

  • X Acto Knife
  • Scissors
  • Yellow, Orange, White construction paper
  • Markers
  • Tape
  • Glue Stick
  • Pom Pom (optional)
  • Cereal Box (we used a kelloge's fruity snack box)

Step One:  Cover box with yellow construction paper.
Step Two:  Cut a rounded square of orange construction paper for the belly and place on the lower half of the front of the box.  Attach with tape or glue.
Step Three:  Cut a mouth shape with your X Acto knife just above the orange belly.

Step Four:  Admire your awesome X Acto knife skills.
Step Five:  Cut three slits in the back of the box. (shown below)
Step Six:  Glue paper to cut out.

Step Seven: Cut out "teeth" with the white construction paper.

Step Eight:  Tape teeth inside the box.  Use the opening in the back to do this part.
Step Nine:  Cut out the feet from the orange construction paper.
Step Ten: Tape feet to the bottom of the box.
Step Eleven:  Cut out ears and attach to the side.
Step Twelve:  Cut out eyes, draw the inner eye and glue.
Step Thirteen:  Draw a line around the mouth with orange marker and draw yourself some eyebrows and you are finished!  The pom pom on the top was just for fun but is optional!

Let you kids put objects one at a time in while counting.

Suggested Items for Counting:
  • Pom Poms
  • Counting bears
  • Milk Jug Lids
  • Paper Clips
  • Small pieces of paper/Felt
  • Erasers
  • Counting Cubes

Monster Math Squad is the property of Bell Broadcast and New Media Fund.
I do not own Monster Math Squad.  I am just a momma hoping my kids will learn to love math!

Happy Homeschooling!
